#ad Be sure to head to Walmart to pick up Coca-Cola® for all your football homegating needs! Did you know online grocery pick up is free?! #KickoffWithGreatTaste #CollectiveBias Share on XOnce you are home, it’s time to get started on your pizza! I don’t know about you, but when I think of fall and football, my mind automatically goes to parties. There is just something about a group of friends gathering to have a great time watching a football game. And what homegate or tailgate party is complete without pizza and Coca-Cola®. This easy grilled Hawaiian BBQ pizza is made using a homemade Coca-Cola® BBQ Sauce, and then cooked on the grill. It comes together easily so you can still enjoy the party.
First off you have to make the Coca-Cola® BBQ Sauce
- 3 cloves garlic
- 3 tablespoons diced onion
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 cup Coca-Cola
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- dash salt
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- pizza dough
- 3-4 slices cooked bacon
- 1/4 cup sliced deli ham
- 1/4 cup pineapple
- 2-3 cups mozzarella cheese
- To make the BBQ sauce saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Then add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer 45 minutes-an hour.
- Place pizza stone on grill and preheat.
- Roll out pizza dough (can be homemade or store bought).
- Spread BBQ sauce on top.
- Top with cheese, then add toppings.
- Grill for about 20 minutes with lid closed.
- Remove from grill and enjoy!
After the BBQ sauce has cooked, it’s time to start assembling your pizza.
Start by putting your pizza stone on the grill and preheating. It is important to put your stone on while the grill preheats or the stone could crack.
While the grill is heating up, roll out your pizza dough. Cover it in that tasty BBQ sauce you made.
Spread all the cheese on top of that. love a cheesy pizza, so I go heavy on the cheese.
Then add your toppings.
Now it’s time to transfer it to the pre-heated pizza stone.
Close the grill and let it cook for about 20 minutes.
Then cheer your team to a victory while enjoying a slice (or two) of pizza and washing it down with a nice cold can of Coca-Cola®.
