If you’ve been around these parts for any amount of time, then you know that I love Fall and everything that comes with it. One of the many joys of fall is going to the apple orchard. We have been once already with my parents, and will be heading there again as a field trip with Annabelle’s preschool. Then next week? Guess what? That’s right! We will be heading to another orchard with a friend.
As you can see, my love of apple picking runs deep. But what’s a girl to do with all those apples?? Sure there’s pie. You can make applesauce. Or we can eat them for snack (and have been). This year I wanted to change it up a bit, so I grabbed some Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets while I was out shopping. I love that the dough is frozen and ready to use. Not only that, but after it is cooked it is airy, and full of golden flaky deliciousness
When I got home I decided to create Chocolate Hazelnut Apple Mini Pies!
These were so easy to do with the Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets! Just watch the video below to see!
Before you start, take your Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets out of the freezer and allow to thaw.
Start with four apples.
Peel, core, and slice them.
Melt butter in a pan, add apples, water, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg and cook for 6-8 minutes.
Unroll Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets cover with chocolate hazelnut spread.
Cut into nine squares and put a tablespoon of apple on each square.
Fold over, and close seams with a fork. Make two small slits in the top, brush egg white on, and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
Enjoy!
