Last week I went to a potluck meeting for Annabelle’s preschool. I, of course, signed up for desert, because dessert is delicious. And in my opinion, if it isn’t chocolate then it’s not dessert. After thinking about it for a little bit, I decided on bringing this Oreo Parfait. It is so tasty, and you will not regret making it.
Here is the recipe, but keep reading to see some pictures of the process.
- 12-14 Oreos
- 1 pan (8X8) brownies
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 4 oz whipped cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powder sugar
- 10 Oreos finely crushed
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 box chocolate pudding use smaller box
- Bake brownies and let cool.
- Process brownies and 12 Oreos in a food processor or blender until the pieces are coarse.
- Chill a mixing bowl and mixer in the freezer for 15 minutes. Mix the whipped cream cheese with 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream.
- Pour the rest (1 3/4 cups) of the whipping cream into the bowl and whip until soft peaks form. Fold in the Oreo crumbs.
- Chill mixing bowl and whisk in freezer for 15 minutes. After, pour two cups whipping cream and stir in pudding mix. Then whip until soft peaks form.
- Create your layers. Start with the brownie/cookie mix. Top with the whipped cream, followed by the pudding. Repeat the layers once, and top with an Oreo cookie.
Bake a 8×8 pan of brownies. You can either use a mix, or do it from scratch. Let them cool.
Place six Oreos in a food processor. Break up brownies and place 1/2 in with the Oreos. Process until broken into small pieces (but not crumbs). If you are using super fudge-y brownies, do it slowly, as it could start to form a ball. Take this out, then add 8-10 more Oreos then the rest of the brownies and process them again. Place to the side.
Put 10 Oreos back in the processor, and process until fine.
Place a mixing bowl and wire whisk in the freezer for 15 minutes. Meanwhile mix 4oz whipped cream cheese with 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream. Take mixing bowl out of freezer and pour mixture into bowl. Add 1 3/4 cups more heavy whipping cream and 1/4 cup powder sugar into the bowl and mix. Then beat until soft peaks form.
Fold in the Oreo crumbs.
Transfer to another bowl. Wash mixing bowl and place back in the freezer. After 15 minutes take out and pour two cups of heavy whipping cream into the bowl, then put one container of pudding into the bowl. Whip until soft peaks form.
Now it’s time to make the layers. Start with the brownie/cookie mix. Top with the whipped cream, followed by the pudding. Repeat the layers once, and top with an Oreo cookie.
See, so simple to make, and so tasty to eat! A great dish to bring to your next BBQ. 🙂
