ELECTRONIC FREE GIFT GUIDE FOR TODDLER AND PRESCHOOL
{1} Play Kitchen: this is a big ticket item, but if your kids are anything like mine, they will get lots of use out of it. Both Annabelle and Autumn still pretend to cook, or love to pretend they work at a restaurant. I linked the kitchen we have, but there are so many other options!
{2} Play Workbench: Another big ticket item, but this little workbench looks like so much fun! I love that it comes with projects you can build. Great for anyone who likes to help mom or dad with projects!
{3}Paw Patrol Toys: I don’t know about you but my kids love Paw Patrol (despite the fact that the mayor is inept and somehow Ryder got a monopoly on all the rescue in town). They are always pulling out these toys and coming up with their own rescue missions. As much as I don’t really like the show, the toys really do allow them to use their imagination.
{4} Banana Blast: This is such a fun game to play. It’s easy to set up and doesn’t last a long time, so it keeps kids attention. Other fun games include Hungry Hungry Hippos and Candy Land.
{5} Playdoh: This is another one of those gifts that kind of stands the test of time. I mean I remember playing with playdoh as a kid, and now my girls love it too. Plus there are soooo many accessories you can get. Like this cute cookie shop or a pizza oven.
{6} I Spy Book: These books are so much fun! I love that it helps kids with not just letters but the sounds the letters make (which is actually way more important than letter names when it comes to reading).
{7} Wooden Train Set: does this bring back memories for anyone else? Once again I love how much free play children can do with this set. They can be as creative as they want. Plus this set is compatiable with other Brio sets.
{8} Dress Up Toys: Sometime around 3 kids start getting into imaginative play. Help foster their creatvity by getting some dress up clothes. My girls love playing with the doctor kit (which they also use to pretend to be vets), but you could also get this fun firefighter costume or this server costume (playing restaurant is another favorite).
{9} Puzzles: Autumn really got into puzzles around 2.5/3 years old. At this age you still want kind of simple puzzles to avoid frustration.
{10} Arts and Crafts Stuff: now I know this may not be everyone’s cup of tea. Once you go beyond crayons it can get kind of messy. But it really is so much fun to watch my girls create! Other crafty stuff we like are bingo counters, paint, and stencils.
{11} Little People : we have a great deal of Little People Toys. It’s so much fun to see my girls use their imagination when they play with them. Plus with all the sets they have, the possibilities are endless. And while some of them do make noise, I’m going to allow it on the non-electronic list, since they still allow for a great deal of free play.
